Narrative Theology
There is one God. He has revealed Himself as one being in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God created humankind in His image for the purpose of relationship. Human sin has broken our connection with God. Consequently, sickness, suffering and death have afflicted creation. Jesus Christ is the only Son of God who redeems humankind. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, crucified as a substitution for our sins, died, was buried, was resurrected, ascended to Heaven, and will return. Witnesses to God's work in history wrote what they saw and heard from God. There is a collection of their writings--the Bible. The scriptures are the inspired and authoritative word of God. By this book we understand the purposes of God and what he has done for us through his son, Jesus.
Humankind restored to God by His grace with our faith in Jesus Christ. We are then given the Holy Spirit who changes believers by: convicting of sin, justifying us before God, regenerating the soul, and assuring believers of their salvation. Once the believer gets the point of God's work, we find discover a new purpose and identity: earthy representations of the Kingdom of Heaven. We then feel compelled to share the experience of God's great love among all nations until the return of Jesus.
